Holiday. A time for living it up and dressing up! We always love a good party and our Holiday 2015 collection is filled with beautifully crafted statement pieces, thanks to our beloved fashion guru, and head designer of six years, Carla Caballero.

Meet Carla

Carla was born and raised in South Africa’s eclectic Cape Town and grew up with a needle in hand, sewing with her grandmother since age seven. Driven to be a fashion designer, upon graduating at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Carla was named “Young Designer of the Year” by Elle. With a mix of passion for rich fabrications and silhouettes that flaunt and flatter, Carla’s vision and craft is a continual guiding force here at Tart.

Last summer on a trip to London – visiting with her sister and muse, Lucia – Carla found inspiration for our elegant, refined, and whimsical Holiday ’15 collection. Eclectic street markets, vintage shops, and interior decorating showrooms, resulted in a sophisticated color palette, interesting design details and a range of rich velvet, sequin, lace, and vegan fur fabrications. Oh how we love endless outfitting options! And while we have already fallen in love with many of these pieces (uhhhem, Farrah top!) we hope you do too – check out the full Holiday ’15 collection here

Fabric speaks to me and the bodies come naturally after that. It is very important that each fabric stands out in the fabric base that it lives in,” Carla remarks.
